Jonathan Groff, Will Rogers, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Rutina Wesley will star in MCC Theater’s production of Jeff Talbott’s The Submission, to run September 8-October 22 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Walter Bobbie will direct.

The play centers on what happens after a wannabe playwright submits a new drama to a theater festival under a pseudonym with affirmative action appeal.

Groff received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in Spring Awakening, and his many stage credits include Hair, The Bachaae, and Deathtrap. He is well known for his role as Jesse St. James on FOX’s Glee.

Rogers’ stage credits include When the Rain Stops Falling, Chair, 100 Saints You Should Know, and From Up Here. Thomas’ Broadway credits include Four Baboons Adoring the Sun and The Diary of Anne Frank. Wesley has appeared on Broadway in The Vertical Hour, and currently plays Tara on HBO’s True Blood.
