Gerald W. Lynch Theater Announces Fall 2011 Schedule

The Gerald W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College has announced its programming for the fall 2011 season.

Among the events on the venue’s schedule is The 9/11 Performance Project, to be offered September 9-11. The series will include three plays, which will each receive two performances: Wajahat Ali’s The Domestic Crusaders and Jeton Neziraj’s The Demolition of the Eiffel Tower, as well as Karen Malpede’s Another Life, which will star George Bartenieff. In addition the project will include panel discussion exploring the legal, cultural and historical implications and repercussions of the 9/11 attacks.

Also on the Lynch Theatre schedule is Iyaba Ibo Mandingo’s unFRAMED: A Man in Progress (September 22-24), a look at a man’s childhood in Antigua and his adulthood in the U.S., to be directed by Brent Buell. The space will also host a single performance of the dance-theater piece Soul Steps on October 20, and the previously announced premiere of Nico Muhly and Stephen Karam’s opera Dark Sisters (November9-19), to be directed by Rebecca Taichman and conducted by Neal Goren.
