Symphony Space to Show Pygmalion, Summertime, and More Films; Host Benefit Screening of Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

Symphony Space will show the famed 1938 film version of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, starring Leslie Howard and Wendy Hiller, on August 2 and 23 as part of its summer film series.

Other films to be screened this summer include Summertime, based on the play The Time of the Cuckoo, and starring Katharine Hepburn, as well as Laila’s Birthday, The Spirit of the Beehive, La Strada, The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Black Orpheus, The Seven Samurai, Knife in the Water, High and Low, Jules and Jim, and The 400 Blows.

In related news, Symphony Space will also host a benefit screening of Joss Wheedon’s popular Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Aong Blog at 8pm on Monday, September 21, which will feature a Q&A with Wheedon and other special guests.
