One Last Extension for the Tony Award-Winning Best Play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

Julie White will take on Sigourney Weaver’s role of Masha beginning July 30.

Christopher Durang’s Chekhovian sendup, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, has announced a second and final extension to its run, following its win for Best Play at last evening’s Tony Awards. Originally scheduled to close June 30, the production will now end its run on Sunday, August 25.

Directed by Tony Award nominee Nicholas Martin, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike began performances March 5. The production features a star-studded cast including Tony Award nominees Sigourney Weaver, David Hyde Pierce, Kristine Nielsen, Billy Magnussen, and Shalita Grant, as well as Genevieve Angelson. Weaver will play her final performance on Sunday, July 28, with Tony Award winner Julie White (The Little Dog Laughed) assuming the role of Masha beginning Tuesday, July 30.
