LABA and The Jewish Plays Project Present Four Presentations as Part of Open: The New Jewish Theater Residency

The National Laboratory for New Jewish Culture (LABA) and The Jewish Plays Project present four Open:The New Jewish Theater Residency productions on June 28, June 30, and July 1 at the 14 Street Y.

An Israeli dysopia performed through live action puppet cinema, Salt of the Earth is directed by Zvi Sahar. The Golems of Gotham features a combination of narratives, circus, and music with Ariel arts by Fran Sperling and Klezmer music by Alicia Svigals. This production is co-adapted and co-directed by Fran Sperling and Sherry Teitelbaum. Sarah Gancher's Klauzal Square, directed by Jen Wineman, is a dark story about the abusive power of adolescents. Finally, Mahalla analyzes the Egyptian Revolution through the Passover Seder. This play features Egyptian film and theater actress Dahila Azama. It is directed by Melissa Moschitto with scenic designer Sarah Edkins.
