Singer and actress Patti LaBelle, who appeared last season on Broadway in Fela, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards, honoring the best in music and film, on Sunday, June 26 in a live ceremony to be hosted by Kevin Hart and aired on BET.

In addition, comedian Steve Harvey will receive the BET Humanitarian Award for his philanthropic activities.

Two films written and directed by Tyler Perry, For Colored Girls and Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too, are nominated for Best Movie, along with Neil LaBute's remake of Death at a Funeral, The Book of Eli starring Tony Award winner Denzel Washington, and Takers.

Stage veterans who are competing for awards include actors Don Cheadle and Kerry Washington, and singers Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jennifer Hudson, and Usher.

Notable nominees also include Halle Berry, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Drake, Idris Elba, Cee-Lo Green, Keri Hilson, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, and Kanye West.
