St. Ann’s Warehouse Announces Line-Up for 2011 Labapalooza!

St. Ann’s Warehouse has announced the line-up for its 13th annual Labapalooza!, a mini festival of Avant-Garde works developed at St. Ann’s Puppet Lab, to be held June 2-5.

Guided by Lab Directors Matthew Acheson and Tom Lee, participating artists and their collaborators have met weekly over several months to develop projects, share puppetry elements and other design and technical ideas, discuss plot structure and character development, and work on narrative. Moderated critical discussion follows each group presentation.

Program A includes Interference and Collapse, written and performed by Daniel Burnam and Erica Livingston; Far from the Tree, written and directed by Retta Leaphart; The Pigeoning, created by Robin Frohardt; and Send for the Million Men, Excerpts from The Anarchists’ Bomb and the Letter “S”, conceived and performed by Joseph Silovsky.

Program B includes Voyage to the Skies, written and directed by Tom McDonagh; Sheep Muses in the Valley of Sleeping Dogs, conceived and designed by Michelle Beshaw with Deborah Beshaw; Senseless! A Brick Foley Adventure, written and directed by Elizabeth Hara; and Planet Egg, by
Zvi Sahar.
