David Cromer, Michael Halberstam Set for May 7 Onstage Conversation

Directors David Cromer and Michael Halberstam will be featured in the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation's (SDCF) next event as part of its "One-on-One Conversation" series, to be held at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, on Saturday, May 7 from 10:15am-11:45am.

The two Chicago-based directors -- who are longtime friends and colleagues -- will talk about their career trajectories, influences, challenges, and artistic visions.

Cromer is currently represented on Broadway by the revival of The House of Blue Leaves. He is a 2010 MacArthur Foundation Fellow, and other notable credits include last season's Broadway revival of Brighton Beach Memoirs; Lincoln Center's production of When the Rain Stops Falling, for which he won a Lortel Award; the long-running production of Our Town, for which he received Lortel and Obie Awards; and Adding Machine: A Musical, for which he also received Lortel and Obie Awards.

Halberstam is currently represented Off-Broadway by A Minister's Wife at Lincoln Center Theatre. He is the Artistic Director and co-founder of Writers' Theatre in Glencoe, Illinois, and has directed numerous works for that theater.
