The 2010 MAC Awards were held on May 4 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill. Sharon McNight served as the host of the event, which featured musical direction by Tracy Stark.
Leslie Uggams received a Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Brian Stokes Mitchell, with other special awards going to Peter Leavy, Playbill.com, Angela Shultz, and Brand Cutrell.
Winners in competitive categories included Anne Steele, Hector Coris, Mary Foster Conklin, Baby Jane Dexter, Danielle Grabianowski, Tom Rocco, Marilyn Maye, Danny Cohen, Mary Dimino, Gretchen Reinhagen, Marquee Five, Jerry Scott, Lennie Watts, and Tracy Stark, as well as Daryl Sherman and Richard Skipper. Prizes also went to Ricky Ritzel Has Hysterical Blondess and Wednesday Night at the Iguana; the recordings John Mercer: A Centennial Tribute and Love Rolls on…Live!; and songs by Brett Kristofferson and Ray Jessel.
The evening also featured appearances by Lucie Arnaz, Lisa Asher, Tony DeSare, The Les Paul Trio, Mario Cantone, Billy Stritch, Karen Mason, Mark Nadler, Klea Blackhurst, Julie Reyburn, Terese Genecco, Lina Koutrakos, Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, Chuck Sweeney as “Miss Peggy Lee,” Phil Geoffrey Bond, David Friedman, Marilyn Maye, Ruby Rims, John McDaniel, Sean Harkness, K.T. Sullivan, Diana Templeton, Thomas Honeck, and Nancy Witter.
