Plays by J.M. Barrie, Nicky Silver, and Anne Washburn will be presented as part of the Vineyard Theatre’s 25th Anniversary Season.

The 2006-2007 season opens on October 24 with Washburn’s The Internationalist, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll. Previously seen Off-Off-Broadway, the play concerns a young American businessman’s unforgettable experiences living and working in a country where he does not speak the language. Washburn’s other plays include Apparition and The Ladies.

In January, the Vineyard will present the first major revival of J.M. Barrie’s 1920 romantic drama Mary Rose, about a girl who might just be a ghost. Tina Landau, whose previous Vineyard outings include Dream True and Miracle Brothers, will helm the production.

In the spring, Silver’s The Agony and the Agony, to be directed by Terry Kinney, will bow as part the theater’s members-only Lab Production Series. The playwright will also appear in this tale of a writer’s revenge. Silver’s plays Raised in Captivity, The Eros Trilogy, and Beautiful Child (also directed by Kinney), were previously produced by the Vineyard.

A fourth production, as well as a series of anniversary events, will be announced shortly. For more information, call 212-353-0303 or visit www.vineyardtheatre.org.
