Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas received the National Meningitis Association’s Nancy Ford Springer Inspiration Award at a gala benefit held at the New York Athletic Club, on Monday, April 25.

Two-time Tony Award winner James Naughton served as Master of Ceremonies for the event, and also performed. Additional honorees included Bart and Michelle Oates, James C. Turner, M.D., and Chau-GiangThi Nguyen (Chosan Nguyen).

Thomas was most recently seen on Broadway in David Mamet’s Race, with other Broadway credits including Sunrise at Campobello, Strange Interlude, The Playroom, Everything in the Garden, Fifth of July, The Front Page, Democracy, and A Naked Girl On The Appian Way. He received an Emmy Award for his work on The Waltons.

Naughton is a two-time Tony Award winner for Best Actor in a Musical for his performances in Chicago and City of Angels.

The fundraiser will help NMA continue and expand its vital work in the fight against meningitis.
