Lorna Luft To Star in Chichester Festival’s Babes in Arms

Lorna Luft will star in the Chichester Festival production of Rodgers and Hart’s classic 1937 musical Babes in Arms, May 29-July 7. The production, which will officially open June 7, will be directed by Martin Connor and choreographed by Bill Deamer.

Babes in Arms will also star West End veterans Mark McGee, Donna Steele, Sophia Ragavelas, and Rolf Saxon. The company further includes Karen Aspinal, Stephanie Bron, Philip Catchpole, Kylie Anne Cruikshanks, Ashley Day, Charles Ruhrmund, Darren Fawthrop, Michelle Francis, Matthew Hart, Gary Murphy, Kay Murphy, Graham Newell, Joseph Prouse, Catherine Terry, and Oliver Tydman.


Among the other offerings slated by the Festival: Tony Award winner Patricia Routledge and Edward Petherbridge in Alan Bennett’s Office Suite, a double-bill of one act-plays (April 12-May 12); Patrick Stewart playing the title role in Macbeth (May 25-September 1) and Malvolio in Twelfth Night (July 14-August 31); David Suchet in the world premiere of Roger Crane’s thriller The Last Confession (April 27-May 19); Jean Anouilh’s The Waltz of the Toreadors (June 16-August 4); Harold Brighouse’s Hobson’s Choice (July 27-September 1); Mark Rylance’s new play The Big Secret Live ‘I Am Shakespeare’ Webcam Daytime Chatroom Show (August 14-September 8); and a revival of The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (September 10-22).
