Harvey Fierstein, the Tony Award-winning star of the hit Broadway musical Hairspray, has donated his own personal pair of house seat tickets for his final performance as Edna Turnblad in the show to help raise funds for the New York City Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project.

The tickets are for the 3pm performance on Sunday, May 2. Angus McIndoe, proprietor of the theater district restaurant that’s named for him, has added to the auction package a dinner for two at the restaurant following the performance.

The auction is already underway and will end at 3pm on Friday, April 30; the tickets will be held at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street) in the name of the winning bidder. The opening bid for the package is $1500, and all funds raised from the auction are tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. To place a bid, click here.
