Signature Theatre Company celebrated the opening of Lanford Wilson's The Mound Builders on Sunday, February 17. Directed by Jo Bonney (Emotional Creature), the revival of the 1975 drama runs through April 14 and stars Zachary Booth (FX's Damages), David Conrad (CBS' Ghost Whisperer), Will Rogers (Golden Age), Janie Brookshire (Mary Broome), Lisa Joyce (La Bête), Rachel Resheff (The People in the Picture), and Danielle Skraastad (Signature's The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide…)
In The Mound Builders, a team of archaeologists must confront their ambition and culture as they excavate the remains of a Native American civilization in an Illinois town. For the drama, playwright Wilson, whose works also include Burn This, The Hot l Baltimore, and the currently running Talley's Folly, received the 1975 Obie Award for Distinguished Playwriting.
