The cast and creators of the new musical The Burnt Part Boys, to be co-produced by the Vineyard Theatre and Playwrights Horizons, met the press on Friday, March 26.

The show features a book by Mariana Elder with lyrics by Nathan Tysen and music by Chris Miller. Set in West Virginia in 1962, the musical follows a group of teenagers whose fathers were killed ten years earlier in a tragic coal mining accident. It will perform at Playwrights Horizons, April 30-June 13.

Casting has also been announced. The play will feature Charlie Brady (Jake), Al Calderon (Pete), Andrew Durand (Chet), Steve French (Miner/Roy), Noah Galvin (Dusty), Michael Park (Dad), Molly Ranson (Frances), Randy Redd (Miner/Frances’ Dad), and Asa Somers (Miner/Chet’s Dad).
