Edward Watts to Join Off-Broadway’s The Fantasticks

Edward Watts will assume the role of El Gallo in The Fantasticks, playing at the Snapple Theatre Center, on March 22. He replaces Lewis Cleale, who will play his final performance on March 14.

The actor was recently seen on Broadway in Finian’s Rainbow. He appeared with the New York City Opera in The Most Happy Fella and toured with Les Miserables and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Regionally, he has appeared at Goodspeed Opera, Michigan Opera Theater, Lyric Theater of Oklahoma, Music Theater of Wichita, and The 5th Avenue Theater, among others.

The Fantasticks, with music by Harvey Schmidt and book, lyrics and direction by Tom Jones, also features Erik Altemus, MacIntyre Dixon, Tom Flagg, Gene Jones, Matt Leisy, Michael Nostrand, Evy Ortiz, Steve Routman, Kimberly Whalen and Scott Willis.
