VIDEO FLASH: Will Chase, Anjelica Huston, Brian d’Arcy James at Smash Premiere

The official premiere of NBC’s new musical drama series Smash was held at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Thursday, January 26.


NBCUniversalDirect was on the red carpet, speaking to series stars Anjelica Huston, Brian d’ Arcy James, Will Chase, Jack Davenport, Jaime Cepero, and Raza Jaffrey, along with producer Neil Meron. In addition to speaking about the series, they discussed their favorite Broadway shows.

The show, which will premiere on Monday, February 6, goes behind the scenes for the creation of a Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe. The series’ pilot is directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, features a teleplay by playwright Theresa Rebeck, and original songs by Tony Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.


The series also stars Debra Messing, Katherine McPhee, Christian Borle, and Megan Hilty. Guest stars will include Bernadette Peters, Nick Jonas, Dylan Baker, and Uma Thurman.
