DRG To Release Say Darling, Annie Get Your Gun CDs

DRG Records will release the original cast recording of the 1958 Broadway musical Say Darling and the 1963 studio recording of Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, starring Robert Goulet and Doris Day, on Tuesday, March 4.

Say Darling featured a book by Richard Bissell, Abe Burrows (who also directed) and Marian Bissell, and a score by Betty Comden, Adolph Green, and Jule Styne. The cast was led by David Wayne, Vivian Blaine, and Johnny Desmond. The show originally ran for 132 performances, and was briefly presented by City Center in 1959.

The Annie Get Your Gun recording also features the vocals of Leonard Shikes, Renee Winters and Kelly Brown, an orchestra and chorus under the direction of Franz Allers, and has new orchestrations by Phil Lang.
