Remembering Kate, a series of free public programs celebrating the donation of the Katharine Hepburn Papers to the New York Public Library’s Billy Rose Theatre Division, will take place at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue).

The series will begin at 6pm on Tuesday, February 19 with readings and reminiscences by Zoe Caldwell and Sam Waterston (who played Tom Wingfield opposite Hepburn’s Amanda in the 1973 television version of The Glass Menagerie). Other participants in the series will include Dick Cavett, Anthony Harvey, Katharine Houghton, Charlotte Moore, and Marian Seldes.

In other NYPL news, a new exhibition, Writing to Character: Songwriters & The Tony Awards, will be on view at the Library for the Performing Arts, February 26-June 14.
This multi-media tribute to the writer of 70 Broadway musicals — including Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein, Frank Loesser, Stephen Sondheim, Kurt Weill, John Kander, Fred Ebb, Duncan Sheik, and Steven Sater — will include posters, manuscripts, photographs, letters, recordings, and videos.
