The run of the critically acclaimed Broadway production of Sarah Jones’s solo show Bridge & Tunnel at the Helen Hayes Theater has been extended through July 9.

The production was originally scheduled to close March 12 to make way for another solo show, Jay Johnson: My Two and Only, which is currently playing at the Brentwood Theater in Los Angeles. That show was scheduled to begin previews at the Hayes on March 21 but has postponed its Broadway run until after Bridge & Tunnel closes.

Bridge & Tunnel opened on January 26. In the show, Jones plays more than a dozen characters at a Queens poetry slam, ranging from a Long Island Jewish grandmother to a young Vietnamese poetry slam champion to a Mexican paraplegic. The show originally played Off-Broadway at the Culture Project in 2004, garnering rave reviews and numerous awards.
