The all-male Broadway revivals of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Richard III have recouped their $3.1 million capitalization, producers have announced. Directed by Tim Carroll and starring two-time Tony Award winner Mark Rylance as Olivia and Richard III, the repertory productions play the Belasco Theatre, where they officially opened on November 10 after runs at Shakespeare's Globe in London and the West End.
Joining Rylance are Stephen Fry as Malvolio and Samuel Barnett as Viola/Cesario and Queen Elizabeth, along with Liam Brennan, Paul Chahidi, John Paul Connolly, Peter Hamilton Dyer, Colin Hurley, Terry McGinity, Jethro Skinner, Angus Wright, Kurt Egyiawan, Matt Harrington, Matthew Schechter, Hayden Signoretti, Joseph Timms, Dominic Brewer, and Dylan Clark Marshall.
The productions feature designs by Jenny Tiramani and music by Rylance's wife, Clare van Kampen. A seven-member band plays live music on traditional Elizabethan instruments.
As previously reported, Twelfth Night and Richard III will end their runs on February 16.
