VIDEO FLASH: Megan Hilty, Katherine McPhee, Debra Messing Featured in Behind-the-Scenes Smash Featurette

NBC has released a behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the new series Smash. As previously reported, the network will begin streaming the pilot episode on January 16 and the broadcast premiere of the show will be February 5.

Smash centers on the making of a Broadway musical, and is co-created and written by playwright Theresa Rebeck and has original songs by Tony Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Tony winner Michael Mayer has directed the pilot.


The cast features Debra Messing, Christian Borle, Anjelica Huston, Megan Hilty, Katherine McPhee, Jaime Cepero, Will Chase, Jack Davenport, Raza Jaffrey, Brian d’Arcy James, and Savannah Wise, along with guest stars Nick Jonas, Bernadette Peters, Uma Thurman, Grace Gummer, and Michael Cristofer.
