Patti Smith Nominated For National Book Critics Circle Award

Music legend Patti Smith has been nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award for her memoir Just Kids. The winners of the awards will be announced on March 10.

The book centers on Smith’s life in New York in the 1970s and her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Smith has already won the National Book Award for the memoir.

Smith co-wrote the play Cowboy Mouth with Sam Shepard, and has recorded numerous albums over the years.
