Larry Raben will play Leo Bloom in the Las Vegas production of the hit Broadway show The Producers, which will begin an open-ended run at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel on January 31, with an official opening slated for February 9.

Raben joins previously announced stars Brad Oscar as Max Bialystock and David Hasselhoff as the cross-dressing director Roger DeBris. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The musical has a score by Mel Brooks, and a book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan. As on Broadway, the Las Vegas production will be directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman and will feature sets by Robin Wagner, costumes by William Ivey Long, and lighting by Peter Kaczorowski. According to the authors, the Vegas production will run an intermissionless 90 minutes; yet only one song, “That Face,” has been completely excised.

Raben appeared in the Broadway company of The Producers, where he played both Leo and Carmen Ghia on various occasions. He received the Los Angeles Ovation Award, among other honors, for his performance as Sparky in Forever Plaid. His many other stage credits include the Broadway concert version of Chess, and regional productions of Bright Ideas, Mister Roberts, and Bells Are Ringing.
