Butler, McDonald, Ripley, Tatar Join Prince in Reprise’s Baby

Kerry Butler, Christopher McDonald, Alice Ripley, and Daniel Tatar will join Tony Award winner Faith Prince in the Reprise! Broadway’s Best Marvelous Musical Mondays production of Baby, to take place at 8pm on Monday, February 5 at UCLA’s Freud Playhouse. The production will directed by Kevin Chamberlin. Complete casting will be announced shortly.

Baby follows three couples who are coping with pregnancy at different stages in their lives. The show has a book by Sybille Pearson, lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr., and music by David Shire. The 1983 Broadway production received seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.

Butler, who will play Lizzie, has starred on Broadway in Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, and Beauty and the Beast. McDonald, who will play Alan, was seen on Broadway as Billy Flynn in Chicago and starred on the TV series Family Law. Ripley, who will play Pam, received a Tony nomination for Side Show and co-starred in the Broadway production of Sunset Boulevard. Tatar, who will play Danny, has been seen in numerous Los Angeles stage productions, including Elegies, The Last 5 Years, and Over the River and Through the Woods.

Prince, who will play Arlene, won a Tony for her performance as Miss Adelaide in the 1992 revival of Guys and Dolls. Her other Broadway credits include Noises Off, Bells Are Ringing, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, The King and I, and Little Me.
