Edward Albee and Olympia Dukakis Set for TRTC’s Beckett Festival

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee and Academy Award-winning actress Olympia Dukakis will be among the participants in the Two River Theater Company’s upcoming Samuel Beckett Festival, March 16-April 2.

Timed to coincide with the late playwright’s centennial, the festival will feature a new production of his masterpiece Waiting for Godot, directed by Seth Barrish, and two programs of Beckett one-acts, directed by TRTC artistic director Jonathan Fox.

Special events will include a reading of Beckett works by Albee (March 18), a discussion with Grove Press founder Barney Rosset (March 19), a showing of the silent movie Film starring Buster Keaton (March 20), and a panel on “Directing Beckett” featuring Dukakis, Barrish, and Fox, and moderated by Carey Perloff, artistic director of San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre (March 27).
