Anderson, Gets, Harris, Irving, Kudisch Set for Shaw Project’s Arms and the Man

Nancy Anderson, Malcolm Gets, Cynthia Harris, George S. Irving, and Marc Kudisch will star in a free reading of George Bernard Shaw’s Arms and the Man at 7pm on Monday, January 23 at the Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South). The evening, which is the initial event of The Shaw Project, will be hosted by Howard Kissel, theater critic for The New York Daily News.

The Shaw Project, which will feature monthly readings of the playwright’s works over the next two years, is being produced and directed by actor David Staller. He is currently appearing in the Irish Repertory Theatre’s production of Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession.

Among the shows scheduled to be read in 2006 areFanny’s First Play Heartbreak House, You Never Can Tell, The Apple Cart, and Misalliance. Among the performers who have agreed to participate in The Shaw Project are Michael Cerveris, Veanne Cox, Olympia Dukakis, Raul Esparza, Patti LuPone, and Marian Seldes.
