Broadway Shows Go On Despite Snow

According to Jed Bernstein, president of the League of American Theatres and producers, all Broadway shows are being performed as scheduled this weekend despite the major snowstorm that hit New York yesterday and continued through this morning.

The matinee and evening shows of Saturday, January 22 went on despite the snow and today’s shows will go on as well, said Bernstein. (Most Broadway productions have only matinees on Sundays, though some also have evening performances). Ticket holders who were or are unable to make it to the theater because of the snow should contact the point of purchase to exchange tickets for a future date.

According to various reports, most other performances in the city — Off- and Off-Off-Broadway shows, concerts, dance events, etc. — are continuing as scheduled, but there have been a few cancellations. Ticket holders should contact the particular venue to ascertain the status of any show they’re planning to attend on Sunday, January 23.
