Holly Twyford and Jay Sullivan will once again star as Electra and Orestes when Two River Theater Co. presents the world premiere production of Orestes A Tragic Romp, March 23-April 11, with an opening on March 27.

Anne Washburn’s new translation/adaptation of Euripides’ classic Greek tragedy follows royal siblings Electra and Orestes as they await the judgment of the citizens and gods for the murder of their mother in the aftermath of the Trojan War. The production originated at the Folger Theatre in Washington D.c. earlier this year, under the direction of Two River’s artistic director, Aaron Posner.

The cast also includes Chris Genebach (Menelaus), and chorus members Lauren Culpepper, Rebecca Hart, Marissa Molnar, Margo Seibert, and Rachel Zampelli.

The creative team is made up of James Sugg (composer/co-music director/sound designer), Daniel Conway (set designer), Jessica Ford (costumes), Tyler Micoleau (lighting designer), and Patty Gallagher (movement director).
