Beth Grant, Melinda Page Hamilton to Star in Grace & Glorie at Colony Theatre

Beth Grant and Melinda Page Hamilton will star in Tom Ziegler’s Grace & Glorie, to run June 9 – July 18 at the Colony Theatre. Cameron Watson will direct the production.

The play focuses on the collision of wills between a feisty illiterate 90-year-old who has checked herself out of the hospital and returned to her ramshackle cottage in the mountains of Virginia and the transplanted New Yorker with a Harvard MBA, who is volunteering as a hospice caregiver.

Grant received Ovation, Drama Critics Circle and Backstage Garland Awards for her performance in Del Shores’ The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife. Among her other stage credits are William Inge’s Picnic, Tennessee Williams’ Summer and Smoke, Romulus Linney’s Holy Ghosts, Maya Angelou’s On a Southern Journey, and Horton Foote’s The Day Emily Married. On the big screen she has been seen in No Country for Old Men, Rain Man, Little Miss Sunshine and Donnie Darko, among others.

Hamilton recently played the title role in Mark V. Olsen’s Cornelia by Mark V. Olsen at The Old Globe. Her other stage credits include regional productions of Bell, Book and Candle, All My Sons, The Royal Family, To Fool the Eye, Cyrano de Bergerac and The Seagull. In addition, she has had recurring roles on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, HBO’s Big Love, and AMC’s Mad Men.

The creative team will include Jeff McLaughlin (scenic design), Luke Moyer (lighting design), Terri A. Lewis (costume design), and Cricket S. Myers (sound design).
