Lisa Kron’s New Play The Wake to Play Kirk Douglas Theatre
Lisa Kron’s new play The Wake, about a politically engaged freelance writer, will debut at Center Theatre Group’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, March 21-April 18. Leigh Silverman will direct the piece, a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, where it will play beginning on May 14 .Casting and creative team will be announced at a later date.
Kron received a Tony nomination as Best Actress for her performance in her play Well. Her other plays include 101 Humiliating Stories, Charity and Montecore, 43/13, and Martha. She is a founding member of the Obie and Bessie Award-winning theatre company The Five Lesbian Brothers, whose plays include Oedipus at Palm Springs, Brave Smiles, and The Secretaries.
