Michael Learned, Granville Van Dusen to Star in Falcon Theatre’s Southern Comforts; Season Announced

Michael Learned and Granville Van Dusen will reprise their starring roles in Kathleen Clark’s comedy Southern Comforts when it plays the Falcon Theatre in Burbank, October 12-November 13. Jules Aaron will once again direct this humorous romance, which was seen earlier this year at International City Theatre.

Learned’s many stage credits include The Best Man, The Sisters Rosensweig, On Golden Pond, All Over, Driving Miss Daisy, and The Ride Down Mt. Morgan. She is a four-time Emmy Award winner, having earned three awards for her role on hit series The Waltons and one for the series Nurse.

Van Dusen’s many stage credits include A Delicate Balance, Darwin in Malibu, The Dresser, The Lion King, Waiting for Godot, The Homecoming, Dangerous Corner, Habeas Corpus, Honour, Private Lives, The Memoirs of Abraham Lincoln, Otherwise Engaged and Undiscovered Country.

The Falcon’s 2011-2012 season will also include the West Coast premiere of Tom McGrath’s Laurel and Hardy, directed by Dimitri Toscas (August 31-October 2); Troubador Theater Company’s new comedic musical mash-up, A Christmas Westside Story, directed by Matt Walker (November 30-January 15); the West Coast premiere of Damian Lanigan’s Dissonance, directed by Crispin Whittell (February 1-March 4); and Troubador Theater Company’s Two Gentlemen of Chicago, also directed by Walker (March 14-April 22).
