Vanessa Williams to Present Blank Theatre Company with Charlie Award

Ugly Betty star and Broadway veteran Vanessa Williams will present the Hollywood Arts Council’s “Charlie Award” to Blank Artistic Director, Daniel Henning at a gala celebration on Saturday, March 29. The event will be emceed by KABC Television’s George Pennacchio at the historic Jim Henson Studios.

The company is being honored for “solidly establishing a resident award-winning theatre company in the heart of Hollywood on Theatre Row.” The Blank’s current production of Dickie & Babe: The Truth About Leopold & Loeb was recently extended thru March 30.

Additional “Charlie Award” recipients that evening will include Bob Mackie, Joe Pytka/Historic Lloyd Wright Residence, Community Redevelopment Agency, Iron Mountain, Cinefamily/Silent Movie Theatre, Nyla Arslanian, and Councilmember Tom LaBonge.
