Shakespeare’s Globe Productions to Receive HD Screenings Worldwide

Dominic Dromgoole’s productions of Romeo and Juliet and Love’s Labour’s Lost and Thea Sharrock’s staging of As You Like It will be screened in movie theaters around the world, according to The Stage. They will be brought in high definition to as many as 80 movie houses in the UK and more than 400 around the world, including Australia and Canada. Following their cinematic releases, each production will also be made available on DVD.

The Shakespeare’s Globe production of Love’s Labour’s Lost will embark on a U.S. tour next month, with stops at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia (October 27-31), the Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley (November 4-8), the Mondavi Center in Davis, California (November 11), UC Santa Barbara (November 13-15), the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica (November 19-29), MiFA in Holyoke, Massachusetts (December 3-5) and New York’s Michael Schimmel Center at Pace University (December 9-23).
