Menier Chocolate Factory’s revival of Mike Leigh’s Abigail’s Party will transfer to the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre, running May 15 – September 1, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Directed by Lindsay Posner, the show will, as previously reported, also play a week-long engagement at Theatre Royal Bath, running April 23-28.

In the play, set in 1970’s suburbia, Beverly and her husband Laurence are hosting a cocktail party for their neighbors. During the course of the evening, prejudices are unmasked and tempers flare, leading to disaster for everyone involved.

The company features Joe Absolom as Tony, Natalie Casey as Angela, Jill Halfpenny as Beverly, Susannah Harker as Susan and Andy Nyman as Laurence.

The production has set and costumes design by Mike Britton, lighting design by Howard Harrison, and sound design by Fergus O’Hare.

As recently reported, the Wyndham’s current occupant, The King’s Speech has announced an early closing of May 12, which makes this transfer possible.
