Gareth Gates, Lil’ Chris, Aaron Sidwell Set for Elliot Davis-James Bourne Musical Loserville

West Yorkshire Playhouse has announced casting for Elliot Davis and James Bourne’s new musical Loserville, according to WhatsOnStage.com. Steven Dexter will direct the production, which will run June 18-July 14.

Bourne is best known as a musician/songwriter and member of the pop-rock bands Busted and Son of Dork. The musical is inspired by Son of Dork’s 2005 album Welcome To Loserville, and is set in 1971 as a computer geek is about to invent something that could change the world. He’s also discovered girls.

Aaron Sidwell will star as the computer geek, Michael, with Gareth Gates as rich kid Eddie, and Lil’ Chris as Francis.

The principal cast will also feature Charlotte Harwood as Eddie’s girlfriend, Eliza Hope Bennett as Holly, and Richard Lowe as Lucas. Other cast members include Jade Albertsen, Sophie Ayers, Laura Bennett, Robbie Boyle, Matthew Bradley, Daniel Buckley, Andrew Carthy, Lauren Hall, Dan Krikler, Duncan Leighton, Megan Louch, Ashley Luke Lloyd, Sarah Watson, and Witney White.

The production will feature choreography by Nick Winston, set design by Francis O’Connor, costume by Francis O’Connor and Stephen Snell, lighting by Howard Harrison, sound by Simon Baker, orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Martin Lowe, Elliot Davis and James Bourne, musical supervision by Martin Lowe and musical direction by Jim Henson.
