Plays by Kristoffer Diaz, Jon Jory, Sarah Ruhl, et al. Part of Actors Theatre of Louisville’s 2011-2012 Season

Actors Theatre of Louisville has announced its 2011-2012 season.

The schedule begins with two new adaptations of literary classics: Jon Jory’s new theatrical version of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility (August 30 – September 24) and Laura Eason’s adaptation of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (October 4-29).

Also on the theater’s schedule is Emily Ackerman and KJ Sanchez’s exploration of the impact of war on veterans and their families, ReEntry (November 15 – December 17); Kristoffer Diaz’s look at the world of professional wrestling The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Diety (January 3 – February 4); and Sarah Ruhl’s unorthodox portrait of relationships and sexuality in the late nineteenth century, In the Next Room or the vibrator play (January 24 – February 18).

In addition, Actors Theatre of Louisville will offer the 36th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays, to run February 26 – April 15, and its annual holiday productions of A Christmas Carol (December 6-23) and A Christmas Story (November 8 – 27), as well as the Halloween offering Dracula (September 14 – October 30).
