Broadway veterans Tony Danza and Henry Winkler and television personality Joy Behar are among the 2011 recipients of AARP The Magazine's Inspire Awards, which pay tribute to extraordinary people who inspire others to action through their innovative thinking, passion and perseverance. The honorees will receive their awards at a private gala in Washington D.C. on December 9.

Danza, who appeared on Broadway in The Producers, The Iceman Cometh, and A View From the Bridge, is being honored for motivating students while filming the A&E documentary series Teach: Tony Danza, as well as his additional efforts to promote public education.

Winkler, whose Broadway credits include The Dinner Party and 42 Seconds to Broadway, is being honored for his efforts to alleviate the suffering of stroke victims as a spokesperson for Open Arms: Raising Awareness of Upper Limb Spasticity.

Behar, along with her daughter Eve Behar Scotti, are being honored for their advocacy for heart health, particularly as leaders of the Mom's Second Chance campaign.

Additional honorees include Maya Angelou, Lisa Niemi Swayze, Pedro Jose Greer Jr., M.D., Helene Gayle, M.D., Sandy Chen Stokes, and Elizabeth Warren.
