Chicago's About Face Theatre has announced selections for its 2009-2010 season.

The season begins with the XYZ Festival (September 21-November 15), which will include the world premiere of Obie Award winner Adam Bock's Flowers, about a small-town theater company, to be directed by Trip Cullman; a reworking of Gilbert & Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance by the Pig Iron Theatre Company; and Holly Hughes and Megan Carney's Let Them Eat Cake.

The season continues with the world premiere of Ann Marie Healy's futuristic thriller What Once We Felt (February 3-March 7), directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; E. Patrick Johnson's Sweet Tea (May 6-23), adapted from his study of gay African-American men in the south; and Queertopia, which will be presented by the About Face Youth Theatre Ensemble in July.
