Steppenwolf for Young Adults, the Chicago theater's teen company, is currently preparing to mount a production of William Golding's classic novel Lord of the Flies, adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams.

Lord of the Flies follows a group of young English boys who explore their newfound freedom after a plane crash leaves them stranded on a deserted island. The Hypocrites Artistic Director Halena Kays directs a young cast that features William Burke as Bill, Spencer Curnutt as Ralph, Lane Flores as Simon, Rudy Galvan as Roger, Ryan Heindl as Sam, Cale Manning as Perceval, Brendan Meyer as Henry, Lance Newton as Maurice, Ty Olwin as Jack, Kevin Quinn as Johnny, Adam Shalzi as Eric, and Dan Smeriglio as Piggy.

The creative team includes scenic design by Lizzie Bracken, costume design by Alison Siple, lighting design by J.R. Lederle, and sound and projection design by Mike Tutaj. Performances are scheduled to run from October 16-November 15 at Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, with an official opening set for October 19.

See the young artists channel their tribal instincts in the rehearsal room as they prepare for their first performance.
