Next Theatre in Evanston has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will open with Dominic Orlando’s Danny Casolaro Died for You (October 14 – November 14). The play is based on the real life story of a reporter, also the playwright’s cousin, who disappeared while investigating corruption in The Reagan/Bush Justice Department. His body was found in a cheap motel, his arms slashed a dozen times.

Motti Lerner’s Benedictus will be the company’s second offering. This exploration of an Israeli arms deal and an Iranian ayatollah’s efforts to stop a U.S. bombing of Iran’s nuclear installations will run January 20 – February 20.

The final two productions in the company’s season are Phyllis Nagy’s portrait of a woman convicted of murdering her mother, Butterfly Kiss, and Nagy’s stage version of The Talented Mr. Ripley. The two pieces will be performed in repertory March 24 – May 1.
