Iconic Peter Pan star Sandy Duncan will return to Neverland and Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre when she joins the company of Finding Neverland beginning February 9 in the role of Madame du Maurier. Duncan's engagement in the show, replacing role originator Carolee Carmello, will continue through March 27.

Duncan joins a company headed by Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck as J.M. Barrie, Laura Michelle Kelly as Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, and Emmy winner Kelsey Grammer as Charles Frohman/Captain Hook.

"It's surreal being back at the Lunt-Fontanne where I opened Peter Pan in 1979," Duncan, who received Tony nominations for her performances in Peter Pan, The Boyfriend, and Canterbury Tales, said in a statement. "There’s a real sense of nostalgia for me in joining this company. So many moments and bits of dialogue in Finding Neverland really bring me back to those days in Peter Pan and to all the folks with whom I shared that experience. I’m looking forward to being a part of the story from a different angle and sharing the stage with yet another group of talented actors. I feel extremely fortunate. Also, Kelsey, I’d like my old dressing room back please!"

Directed by Diane Paulus, Finding Neverland opened April 15 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre after a 2014 tryout run at the American Repertory Theater. With a score by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy and a book by James Graham, Finding Neverland explores the friendship of playwright J.M. Barrie and Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, a widowed mother whose four boys inspired the beloved Peter Pan stories. It is based on the 2004 film of the same title, which itself was based on Allan Knee's play The Man Who Was Peter Pan.

Carmello departs the production to star in the upcoming Broadway production of Tuck Everlasting.
