Mary Poppins to Become 28th Longest-Running Show on Broadway

Mary Poppins is set to surpass Oklahoma! as the 28th longest-running show in Broadway history when it plays it 2,213th performance on March 9 at 8pm at theNew Amsterdam Theatre.

Mary Poppins has a book by Julian Fellows and uses the original film score by Robert and Richard Sherman, augmented by new songs written by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. The Broadway cast currently stars Steffanie Leigh in the title role and Gavin Lee as Bert.

Mary Poppins received its worldwide premiere at the Prince Edward Theatre in the West End in December 2004. The musical is the winner of 44 major theater awards around the globe, including Tony, Olivier, Helpmann, and Evening Standard awards.
