The eleventh annual Boston Theater Marathon will expand to a two-day, weekend-long event, to be presented at Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, May 16-17.

The expansion is part of a multi-year plan to develop the marathon to include multiple venues, hundreds of performers, and thousands of cultural tourists and Boston theatre patrons.

On May 16, the Marathon will include three free staged readings of new plays, including Pulitzer Award nominee Theresa Rebeck’s The Novelist, directed by Peter DuBois, along with Jacob and the Stranger, by Alan Brody, directed by Diego Arciniegas and Annie Desmond Gets a Tattoo, by Kirsten Greenidge, directed by Shawn LaCount.

On May 17, the Marathon will feature 50 ten-minute plays by 50 New England playwrights performed by 50 New England theatres from 12 noon to 10pm.
