About This Show

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production of the legendary Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic The Sound of Music follows Maria, a nun in training, who is sent from a nearby convent to act as governess to the seven children of the widowed Austrian aristocrat, Captain Georg Von Trapp. Despite a rocky beginning with the family, she eventually wins the hearts of the children and their father. With the impending Nazi occupation of Austria, the family barely escapes to the safety of Switzerland. The delightful and inspiring story of the Von Trapp Family Singers includes such songs as “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “The Sound of Music,” “Edelweiss,” and “So Long, Farewell.”

The Sound of Music is directed by Jeremy Sams, with choreography by Arlene Phillips, design by Robert Jones, sound by Mick Potter, lighting by Mark Henderson and musical supervision by Simon Lee.
