Susanna Burney directs The Last Night of Ballyhoo, by Alfred Uhry.
The author of Driving Miss Daisy once again portrays life for a Jewish family in the South. It’s 1939, war is brewing in Europe, yet Atlanta’s German-Jewish community is much more concerned with who might be attending Ballyhoo, the social event of the season, than with world events. Mixing comedy, romance and moving drama, this won the Tony for “Best Play” in 1997.
