About This Show

Seattle based stand-up comedian and renowned photographer Rod Long debuts his one man show, Serious Images and a Funny Man. A reception follows the show, where the audience is invited to meet Rod and view and purchase his photographs.

With 20 years in the stand-up comedy game, Long has plenty of material to work with. From parodying his 1972 high school yearbook picture (“hair continued on page 83”) to commenting on current political and social issues, Rod has entertained audiences all over the world. He’s been seen on Showtime, opened for Ray Charles, Anita Baker and others, and currently writes a humor column, “Out of Left Field,” for the Seattle Mariners Magazine.

A graduate of the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA and of Seattle University, Rod has authored a column for Peterson’s Photographic Monthly, worked as a photojournalist for the Bellingham Herald and the Seattle Times, and has provided location photography services for private clients such as Reebok and Essence Magazine. His commercial work is distributed on Getty Images and sold privately.

The event is a benefit for Twelfth Night Productions, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to the West Seattle based theatre community, along with 30% of proceeds from the sale of photographic art.
