You think you’re addicted to what they serve during the day? Wait until you see what they have to offer at night. On October 24, the performance and fine art of local baristas will be showcased at Re-bar in a fundraiser for Baba Yaga Productions called Room for Cream?
Room for Cream? is the brainchild of Baba Yaga company member and Top Pot barista Kate Czajkowski, who has compiled an evening of fine art, film, music and performance by Northwest baristas including bands Love Hotel (with Typing Explosion’s Sarah Paul O’Campo) and Roulette (includes previous members of Vendetta Red and Raft of Dead Monkeys, and current member of Spook the Horse), and the film, performance and music of Kelleen Conway-Blanchard, Gina Mainwal, Niceol Blue, and Jennifer Labbienti, among others. Hosted by Baba Yaga company member (and former barista!) Sarah Rudinoff, Room for Cream? will spotlight talent from the spectrum of Seattle’s coffee shops, including Top Pot, Victrola, Zeitgeist and Starbucks, and feature a special performance of Scot Auguston’s “room for cream”-inspired shadow puppet show.
