About the Show

The Historic Everett Theatre presents the holiday classic Miracle on 34th Street. Kris Kringle, a bearded old gent who is the living image of Santa Claus. Serving as a last-minute replacement for the drunken Santa who was to have lead Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, Kringle is offered a job as a Macy’s toy-department Santa. The supervisor, Mrs. Walker soon begins having second thoughts about hiring Kris: he believes he is the genuine Saint Nick. Kris is determined to win over Mrs. Walker’s daughter who in her young years has lost her Christmas spirit. Complications ensue when Macy’s nasty in-house psychologist arranges to have Kris locked up in Bellevue as a lunatic for believing he is Santa Claus. Mr. Payne represents Kris at his sanity hearing, rocking the judicial system to it foundations by proving in court that Kris is, in fact, the real Santa Claus!
