About This Show

Y York brings a masterful world premiere to SCT with Mask of the Unicorn Warrior, a mythic tale inspired by the Unicorn Tapestries that hang in the Cluny Museum in Paris. Mysteries embedded in cloth 500 years ago by an anonymous weaver, comes to life through York’s fable of Tycho, a noble, merciful prince who is soon to be King. Taunted by his warrior brother Golan, Tycho doubts he possesses the fierceness to be a great ruler. He embarks on a journey to ‘cure’ his fear of battle by fighting a unicorn, as his father had before him. When faced with the magnificent beast, Tycho?s heart is moved and he is unable to harm it. Along the forest path, he immediately discovers Mercurial and her companion, Needle, lone survivors of a shipwreck. The moment Tycho and Mercurial meet their fates are sewn together, as intricately as a tapestry.
